►Who did you first cosplay as?
The first time I wore a costume to a convention was technically an original character at a sci-fi convention. I called her Argante, meant to be a Lady of Avalon harhar. I was like thirteen back then... but my first real cosplay was Aeris Gainsborough from Final Fantasy VII, when I was fourteen. As you can see, not much has changed in six years.

►When and where did you first cosplay?
Erm, Anime Detour in Minnesota. Back in I think 2004, whatever year the very first Anime Detour was.

►When and where was the last time you cosplayed?
Umm like two weeks ago... maybe.

►Who have you cosplayed as in the past?
Oh boy, um, let's see what I can remember.

►Who is your favourite person to cosplay as?
Oh, that's hard. I mean, Aeris is my favorite character so I guess by default I like cosplaying her the best. But some of my other costumes are so fun to wear. Like, being the Death Note fanatic I am, I have insane amounts of fun with my friend who cosplayed Light. I made us the long handcuff, and we took lots of yaoi shots.. way fun. 8D Altair is fun to wear at conventions too, because people will come up and ask if they can have a picture of me killing them. Nel Zelpher was surprisingly comfortable and I was pretty proud with how it turned out at the time, but cosplaying is always more fun when you have a group of friends from the same series!

►Who do you REALLY wanna cosplay as?
Dunno.. I can't think of any fabulous costumes that I want to do that merit REALLY in caps. But there are plenty I'd just like to do. ~frankiki and I are hoping to do Noctus and Stella from FFXIII Versus, and Chikane and Himeko from Kanazukinomiko.

►How many of your friends cosplay?
A lot of my old friends from high school have cosplayed before but I don't think any of them are into it as much as I am. Of course, my beloved roommate ~frankiki cosplays with me. But most of my friends now probably don't, haha.

►Have you ever walked around in public in your cosplay outfit?
Yes. I don't usually because I get embarrassed and shy easily, but here in Japan we've done a shoot taking advantage of the scenery and plan on doing more!

►Have people in public ever recognized you and asked for photos?
I can't think of any stories right now, but probably a few times during my cosplay career.

►Have you ever made your own cosplay outfit?
Pfft, I make ALL of my costumes! Occasionally there's a piece I buy if it's cheap (i.e. thrift store cheap) and it's more accurate than my skills could ever make on my own, but pretty much all the clothing is sewn and props made by myself. *brags*

►When and where did you first learn of cosplay?
When I was really in my Final Fantasy VII phase (which I perpetually am, granted), I was looking for Aeris pictures on Google and came up with a few cosplay photos. I thought it looked so cool, especially when combining different elements of art - photography, costuming, and of course the love for the characters I obsessed over.

►What did you think of it then?
I instantly knew I wanted to make my own Aeris costume! And I started looking for conventions in my area.

►What do you think of it now?
It's a lot of fun still! I'm more confident with myself now than I was before, so I feel more free to cosplay. Course, I don't have as much money or time to focus on cosplay either..

►Where do you usually cosplay?
Conventions. And photoshoots with my friends!

►Have you ever done a cosplay skit on stage?
Yeah! At this small convention called Sogencon, me and some other friends in Final Fantasy cosplay did a skit. It was pretty goofy and probably not as funny as we thought it was, but we had fun.

►Have you ever won a prize for said skit?
We won Best in Show, I think! Small convention though, so don't be too impressed.

►Do you plan your cosplay outfits way before you’re meant to wear them?
Sure, yeah! Sometimes more than other times. >>;

►Have you ever been to a convention and cosplayed?
Is there any other reason I'd go to a convention?

►What is the best thing about cosplay?
Meeting people, acting as a tribute to characters and series you love. Being geeky but having fun!

►What is the worst thing about cosplay?
The money is costs. No doubt.

►Why do you cosplay?
I'm an attention whore. LOL No, but really... I love creating things, so making costumes is a lot of fun. I love celebrating characters, so my geeky side is happy. I love meeting people with similar interests, so wearing cosplay is a great!
